Tell me what you think!!!
So far the school year is going great! One of the purposes of this blog is to allow students to post comments on assignments or on issues brought up in class. I think it is valuable for parents/guardians to be able to see what is going on in class, as well.
So the assignment for the week is:
Comment on a topic we have talked about in class. You can keep your comments short, 2 to 3 sentences, but I want your opinion, not just reverberated text! Tell me how you feel about the topic, or something that really fascinated you!
Parents/Guardians - feel free to leave me a comment as well, just be sure to let me know who belongs to you, as I am still learning!
Students - You have until September 9, 2010(by 4:00 PM) to post a comment, this will be for a grade.

Wonderful First Week!
U.S. History (11th graders)
- Complete your homework assignment over the weekend, everyone should get a start on it in class
- The assignment is: Imagine you are an immigrant on your way to America. Write a diary entry describing where you settled. Consider the location, possible occupations, and effect on the Indians.
World History (10th graders)
-Complete your homework assignment over the weekend, everyone should get a start on it in class
- The assignment is as follows: Imagine you are living in a culture before it has developed a system of writing. Describe what everyday life would be like. Consider what human activities can make use of writing and how these activities would be handled without writing.
American History (8th graders)
-Complete your homework assignment over the weekend, everyone should get a start on it in class
The assignment is as follows: Imagine your are living in an early Native American society. Write describing your life as a member of this group. Consider food, shelter, and other cultural trait.
All writing for me should be at least 2 paragraphs with 4-8 sentences in each paragraph!!! Make sure your paragraphs express your thinking, not just information straight from your book and notes. I want you to think OUTSIDE THE BOX! Good luck!

In-Service
Well, no worries, it is already late Wednesday afternoon (we start school Monday the 23rd) and I have just about finished up all of my classroom stuff. I am planning on using all of Friday to get my lesson planning done because by then I will have everything in place that needs to be in place in order for this to happen.
The goal of this blog is to keep my students and their parents informed on what's going on in the classroom, so look for weekly updates. Please be patient during the first few weeks of school because it is going to be hectic! I will post soon as school gets nearer. Until then.......
