What a day!

I can tell you that I am really ready for the weekend! I have just completed (miraculously....considering P has been in here everyday telling me to just "X out") my online professional development course - Blogging for Teachers! Yea!!! I received my class schedule and have just added it to the bottom of the blog, so check it out!

I am about to call Will and Jack and see if they are ready to join us (me, P, Rhea) for a swim at Aunt Sue's! Ah...just what I need a relaxing few hours of pool side bliss. I know you are thinking not so much with four kiddos ranging from --- OMG I am too cool for you 12 years old almost in Junior High to wow I just turned 5 and I am so brave but still a little scared of the water -"Aunt Katty please swim with me!!!!"--- but they are great kids and I enjoy every minute with them! Honest, I really do!

I will be reading a few chapters from October Sky, so look for a progress update soon. BTW... that too cute nephew whom shall remain nameless just came in to check if I was "almost done, come on just x out!!" Oh I wish it were that simple!

Welcome to my world!

I am so excited to be at Burton ISD this year! I feel as if I have finally come home!

I grew up in this area and attended Burton ISD in grades K-9. After my 9th grade year I moved with my Mom to Brenham and finished my high school career there.

After high school I went on to play college softball at Houston Baptist University and received my BA in History and Kinesiology and then my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.

I live in the Greenvine area and am determined to stay in Washington County near my family, which I hold near and dear to my heart.

This year I will be teaching US History, World History, and American History. I will also coach the Lady Panther Softball team.

Please check back frequently and feel free to leave comments or questions. You may also email me at kspies@burtonisd.net. I look forward to a very exciting year!
